Samuel Boateng Named Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellow

Samuel Boateng, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Music in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, has been named a Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellow by the American Council of Learned Societies. The highly selective fellowships support promising doctoral students in the humanities and interpretive social sciences with a year of funding designed to help them complete projects that will form the foundations of their careers. Samuel’s dissertation is entitled, “Jazz Ghana: Historical Perspectives, Transnational Routes, Space and Sustainability.” Read his initial reflections about his experiences as a Humanities Engage2020-2021 Immersive Dissertation Research Fellow.
