Prepping Your Dataset for Sharing

October 11, 2022 - 1:00pm to 1:30pm

University Library System

Many researchers are “on board” with data sharing yet feel uncertain about the preparatory steps to make their data reusable, prior to posting. Or they already participate in data sharing, with a sense that they could better prepare their data, but they’re unsure of exactly how. In this online, 20-minute presentation, we’ll discuss some low-effort practices and rules-of-thumb for increasing your project’s reproducibility and reusability. Topics include data dictionaries, open file formats, README files, and licensing. Time will be available for Q&A.
